Tracy Franke has been designing and sewing since 1978. She first made dance costumes for the Bucks County Dance Company while a founding member/dancer for the company itself. Since then, she studied costume design and construction at Arizona State University with Donna Bartz, while stitching for Award winning designer Susan Johnson-Hood in Tempe Arizona. In Albuquerque, Tracy costumed Nickerson’s Young Actors (now called “New Mexico Young Actors”) for five seasons. She attended workshops at “Tutu.com” in North Carolina with Claudia Folts,
and currently attends classes offered by “Halsey Onstage” costume design in Chicago. For the last 10 years, she has provided performance tutus, dance costumes and headpieces for local ballet dancers in competition. Her inspiration comes from reciprocity and collaboration, always open to learning and incorporating new techniques, while sharing her experience and expertise with other artists.
